When to Visit an Urgent Care – Summer Illnesses and Sports Physicals

Summer vacation is here and although summertime typically means your child might not have illnesses like the flu or strep throat (which are more common in the winter), there are other things that might still come up that a pediatric urgent care can diagnose and treat. Here are the top summer ailments we see at AllKids Urgent Care:

  1. Asthma and wheezing

  2. Rashes and other skin irritations

  3. Sprains and strains

  4. Fractures and broken bones

  5. Minor cuts and stitches

It can be scary to have a child with one of these summer ailments but rest assured, AllKids Urgent Care is here to help guide you every step of the way with our caring and knowledgeable pediatric staff, X-ray machines, and other equipment to provide care for kids. With offices in both Mesa and Gilbert, we’re closer than you think. Our pediatric urgent care offices are open noon to 10 pm daily, all summer long.

Physicals

Need a sports physical before attending a summer camp or before trying out for the upcoming Fall sports season? AllKids can help! A sports physical helps determine whether it’s safe for your child to participate in a particular sport. Most states, not just Arizona, require that kids and teens have a sports physical before they can start a new sport or begin a new competitive season. If you need a sports physical, just stop by either our Mesa Pediatric Urgent Care or our Gilbert Pediatric Urgent Care during normal business hours. We’ll complete the assessment and paperwork quickly, answering all your questions about your child’s physical health and their upcoming sports participation.
