If you’re worried about the neighborhood children getting too much candy, chocolate, and other high-calorie goodies here are a few suggestions for some healthy alternatives to give the little Trick-or-Treaters this year.
Plastic Jewelry
You can purchase them in bulk online or even at your local dollar or 99 cent store. You can find bracelets and rings even some that glow in the dark or have hidden fun like lip gloss or lollipops. You can even buy the ever so popular silly bands on amazon.
Crazy Accessories
Again, little baubles can be found anywhere and for cheap if you start early enough. You can get glow-in-the dark stars or other stickers, fang whistles, skull keychains, or cute masks.
Temporary Tattoos
These come in thousands of designs and styles and are a huge hit with the little ones.
Arts and Crafts Materials
Small things of play dough, little boxes of crayons, make your own beading kits, ink stamp kits, fun pens or pencils, and little pumpkin shaped notebooks are sure to please. You can even buy some standard school supplies with a halloween theme for the kids to enjoy well into November.
Pocket Toys and Games
Yo-yo’s, mini slinky, jacks, sidewalk chalk, squirting bath toys, decks of cards can all be found in bulk online and these can be enjoyed again and again.
Healthy Treats
Raisins, goldfish crackers, pre-made store bought bags of apple slices or baby carrots, kettle corn, or Pirate’s booty still within the realm of a treat but with that Mom approved healthy note.
